Assam University's Silchar Campus To Soon Have War Museum

Guwahati: A war museum will soon be established at the Silchar campus of Assam University as the permission of the same has been approved by the Executive Council of the University.

The university has also allocated funds for the construction of the war museum on the university's campus in Silchar.

In this regard, the registrar of the university has shot a letter to Brigadier Joshi Narain Dutt Ganesh Dutt, Director, Directorate of Sainik Welfare, wherein, it apprised the latter about the approval.

"Pleased to inform you that the Executive Council of the University approved and allocated funds for the establishment of war museum at Assam University, Silchar Campus," the letter read.

"Therefore, I take the opportunity to request you to kindly direct your office to take necessary steps in setting up the war museum at the earliest," the letter further read.

The registrar in the letter also mentioned that the regard to the matter shall be remitted to the account of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Government of Assam.

Meanwhile, as per reports, the Directorate of Sainik Welfare has agreed to construct the war museum at the Silchar campus of Assam University.
