Assam: US Bike Rider Berry Thomson Dies in Road Accident on Lumding-Haflong Highway

Berry Thomson, a U.S. tourist biking across India, tragically died in a road accident on the Lumding-Haflong National Highway near Blue Hill Dhaba in Hojai district.

NAGAON: Berry Thomson, a tourist from United States of America who had been traveling India on a bike, died in a tragic road accident on Lumding-Haflong connecting 27 National Highway near Blue Hill, a roadside Dhaba at Lumding in Hojai district today here.

According to sources as well as other eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when a Royal Enfield Himalayan bike (AS 11 N 0804) was hit by a speeding truck, belonging to Ashok Leyland Company. The driver of the vehicle fled along with truck from the scene soon after the accident. The bike rider, the foreign tourist, was traveling from Silchar to Lumding today.

It’s reported that the rider had been touring India on his bike, which he had brought from his home country.  Meanwhile local police from Lumding as well as Mandardisa immediately rushed to the spot and took the injured bike rider immediately to the Lumding Civil Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him brought dead, sources added further.
