

DIBRUGARH: Assam Cabinet Minister Atul Bora inaugurated the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in Dibrugarh on Thursday, May 29, marking the launch of a 15-day national campaign aimed at modernizing Indian agriculture.
The inauguration event, held at Mancotta Field, featured the ceremonial flagging off of two campaign vehicles by Minister Bora in the presence of Cabinet Minister Bimal Borah, Dibrugarh District Commissioner Bikram Kairi (IAS), Dibrugarh University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jiten Hazarika, and senior officials from agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, dairy, and other allied departments.
The campaign in Dibrugarh is being implemented with the support of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Romai, and district-level departments including Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Dairy Development, and the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM). It is set to engage directly with around 10,400 farmers across the district through outreach and awareness programs.
The nationwide initiative launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) aims to reach approximately 1.5 crore farmers.
The campaign, with the deployment of over 2,000 teams of scientists in more than 700 districts, focuses on promoting modern agricultural techniques, disseminating information about government schemes, and gathering grassroots-level feedback and suggestions from farmers.
