Morigaon: The Central Government has taken a major initiative for the development of the agricultural sector by launching the Viksit Krishi Sankalpa programme across the country. The 13-day-long agricultural development programme commenced in Morigaon district on Thursday, and was officially inaugurated by Ananta Gogoi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Morigaon Zila Parishad, in the presence of District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Ashok Sharma at Raja-Mayong under Jagiroad constituency, Morigaon.

The programme, organized by the District Agriculture Department, aims to raise awareness about various government schemes introduced for the benefit of farmers. It also facilitated farmer registration and crop insurance enrollment. Additionally, demonstrations of drones and nano urea in modern agricultural practices were conducted, highlighting their usage and benefits for farming. The programme will continue for the next 13 days. A Krishi Rath (Agricultural Chariot) was also displayed to mark the occasion.

The event was attended by Assistant Director of Agriculture Tapan Kumar Brahma, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Mehdi Arif Hussain, Media Specialist Gautam Kumar Nath, Deputy Inspector of Agriculture Praya Naha, Block Technology Manager Pavithra Deuri, insurance company officials, and over 200 farmers.
