Assam: Vivek Oberoi To Attend Bodo Sahitya Sabha In Kokrajhar

GUWAHATI: On Sunday night, Vivek Oberoi, one of the brightest Bollywood stars, came to Guwahati. Oberoi is slated to attend today's Bodo Sahitya Sabha meeting in Kokrajhar.

Oberoi commended Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister, for his commitment to the state while speaking with the media.

"I contacted him at around six in the morning and apologised for disturbing him at this time. He claimed that every day he wakes up at 4 or 4.30 am to say his prayers. He then begins working as planned after that. This demonstrates how devoted he is, which may be the reason why everyone adores him.”, added Oberoi while talking with the media.

A speech by Oberoi will be given at the occasion, which will be attended by about 25,000 people, and he left for Kokrajhar this morning.

He said that he will be going to Kamakhya Temple to pray but declined to announce the time, in order to keep the media from asking him. Jokingly, he remarked, "If I tell you the time, you'll show up with your camera, and I won't be able to complete my prayers. Thus, I want to keep it top secret.”

A new executive committee was established yesterday following the conclusion of the 62nd session of the central committee, the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), and the 48th session of the Kokrajhar district BSS.

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha's new president is Surat Narzary, and the vice presidents are Nilima Basumatary, Prasanta Boro, and Sitaram Basumatary.

Nilukanta Gayary, on the other hand, was chosen to serve as the next general secretary.

The 62nd session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha took place at Rani Khalaishree Fwthar, close to the Swrmanga River in Patgaon in the Kokrajhar district, from February 23 to February 26.
