TINSUKIA: A woman was attacked by a leopard early this morning in Assam’s Tinsukia town. The incident occurred on Rongagora Road while the woman was cleaning the front yard of her house. The leopard suddenly pounced on her, causing injuries. Despite the attack, the woman was able to escape from the animal's clutches.

Meanwhile, earlier last month, chaos erupted at the under-construction site of the Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge after a leopard was spotted taking shelter on one of the bridge’s poles. The unexpected sight caused widespread panic among workers at the site.

During the incident, a worker named Uday Ghosh, from West Bengal, was also attacked by the leopard. He got injured and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where he was being treated, sources said.

The sudden appearance of the leopard sent several workers fleeing the site, bringing construction activities to a standstill. After the incident, the Forest Department and local police teams went to the area. They were making sure the place was safe for workers and residents. They were trying to calm the leopard and move it to a safe location.

Some workers speculated that the animal may have crossed the Brahmaputra River to reach the site. Authorities continued their operations to locate and capture the animal while urging the public to remain vigilant.
