Silchar: Following a spat with her husband, a 25-year-old woman allegedly killed her two daughters and later she committed suicide in Hailakandi's Chandrapur village.

According to reports, the woman identified as Rimpi Das, first hanged her daughters named Madhusree and Moutushi, and then hanged herself from the ceiling.

Reportedly, Rimpi Das had married Malay Das a few years back and they had two daughters. The eldest child was four years old and the younger one was two years old.

Malay is a carpenter by profession and works at a local construction site. The reports claimed that he had a heated argument with his wife on Wednesday morning.

After recovering the hanging bodies, police sent them to Hailakandi Civil Hospital, and later to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for the postmortem.

After completing all the procedure, the bodies were handed over to the family.
