Assam: World Science Day celebrated in Chaiduar College

GOHPUR: Chaiduar College celebrated World Science Day with enthusiasm, led by the Department of Zoology and Dr. Mohini Mohan Borah. The event, inaugurated by Principal Dr. Kishor Singh Rajput, stressed the significance of science in today’s world. Utpal Borah, Associate Professor, passionately discussed science’s relevance, while Trisna Kalita ,and other esteemed faculty members attended the programme. MLT (B.Voc) and Zoology students actively participated, showcasing their scientific attentiveness.

Dr. Mohini Mohan Borah, HoD, Department of Zoology, Nodal Officer of Skill Hub Institute and Coordinator B. Voc, urged scientific researchers to engage ethically with communities, emphasizing transparency and accountability. Dr. Borah highlighted science’s transformative power in healthcare, agriculture, and energy, showcasing recent advancements. The event reflects Chaiduar College’s commitment to promoting scientific knowledge and nurturing inquiry among students. In a notable speech, Dr. Arindam Sharma, IQAC Coordinator and associate professor, addressed superstitions and old traditions, encouraging students to embrace a scientific mentality. The celebration underscored the college’s dedication to fostering curiosity and scientific inquiry, stated a press release.
