Assam: Youth Dies by Suicide at Cuttack Railway Station, Odisha

JAMUGURIHAT: In a tragic incident, Dip Chetry (29), a resident of Samar Dalani village under Sootea Police Station in Assam, died by suicide at Cuttack Railway Station in Odisha on Friday. The young man reportedly jumped in front of a moving train, ending his life.

According to sources, Dip was employed at a private company in Bangalore and was on his way home to Assam. He left Bangalore on June 19 and reached Cuttack on June 20. Throughout the journey, he remained in contact with his family until late evening on Thursday.

Family members revealed that during his last phone conversations, Dip sounded fearful and anxious, prompting them to reach out to the railway authorities in Cuttack in hopes of locating and helping him. Unfortunately, before the Railway Protection Force (RPF) could intervene, he had already taken the extreme step.
