GUWAHATI : With each passing day, the number of crimes in the city is increasing. A terrifying episode occurred last night in Guwahati, that has raised question against the existing law and order of the region. 

A women was dragged on her hair by a notorious youth on 22nd December, Wednesday night. The incident took place in Khanapara area, in front of Kendriya Vidyalaya school. As per the statement released by the victim, the youth has been identified as Rohan Agarwal. 

He misbehaved with the women and showed her offensive sexual gestures, while he drove his car towards the victim in a motive to knock her down. The women stated in front of the police that, she was coming back from the office when a car approached from a house where she was standing. 

The one driving the car tried to hit her while performing some sort of car stunt and molested her verbally. Both got involved in an argument after the accused termed her as a 'beggar'. In retaliation, the victim called the youth a 'drug addict' on which he went all ferocious. 

Consequently, he grabbed her hair from behind and started dragging her along with the moving car and later pushed her on the drain, stated the victim. She also mentioned in front of the police that, the miscreant's parents claimed that they can settle down the issue overnight with the police department, as they have a lot of money and connections with the higher authorities. 

Nonetheless, the victim has urged the department to initiate an investigation regarding the matter and nab the culprit who tortured her out of the blue. As per sources, Rahul Agarwal is still running free, away from the custody. 

Meanwhile, Dispur police is carrying out an interrogation process with his father.

A WagonR has been seized in relation with the case with registration number AS 01 BD 9455. Guwahati Police Commissioner, Diganta Borah stated on Thursday that, the incident should not be termed as a mere road rage episode or someone performing dangerous vehicle stunt, as the youth passed offensive gestures and enraged the dignity of a woman.
