BOKAKHAT: A tragic incident occurred in Kaziranga on Thursday, where a man lost his life while fishing. According to reports, in the afternoon, Mathu Mura, a resident of Domjan under Kohora Police Outpost in Kaziranga, went to the nearby Moridifalu River to fish along with his younger brother Babai Mura.
While setting up a net in the river from a sandbar, Babai returned to the shore, but suddenly Mathu Mura slipped and drowned in the water. Babai immediately began searching for his elder brother in the river. Other people who were fishing nearby joined in the search, and local residents also rushed to the spot to help.
After a prolonged search, Mathu Mura's lifeless body (aged 45) was finally recovered from the river in the evening. Meanwhile, Kohora Police arrived at the scene and brought the body to the police station. Due to nightfall, a post-mortem examination could not be conducted on Friday. The police stated that the post-mortem will be performed on Saturday, after which the body will be handed over to the family.
