KOLKATA: A young artist from Assam who was discovered in critical condition under strange circumstances outside the Kolkata railway station tragically died in Kolkata, just a few days after a young woman from Assam was brutally murdered in Bengaluru.
On December 1, the young person, identified as Surya Saikia, was discovered in severe condition close to the Kolkata railway station.
Originally hailing from North Lakhimpur in Assam, Surya Saikia was an artist by profession. The reason why he was in Kolkata is yet to be ascertained.
Although the reason for his critical condition is yet to be determined, his family has suspected foul play, claiming that their son may have been killed in a premeditated act.
Despite the family's demands for a comprehensive investigation, local authorities treated the case as an accident.
It may be noted that on November 26, 19-year-old Maya Gogoi, the granddaughter of the late Assam Congress leader Indra Gogoi, was fatally stabbed in a Bengaluru service flat.
Although he had escaped the site and was attempting to elude capture, the main suspect, Aarav Hanoy, a 21-year-old man from Kerala, was taken into custody.
In November, three family members and a man were brutally murdered at their home in Nagaon district.
The police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.
The accused had been identified as Amal Sarkar, who is the nephew of Gunadhar Sarkar, one of the victims of murder.
