Guwahati: Bagmita Dutta, a student of Sankardev Shishu Niketan has enrolled her name in the International Book of Records.

According to details Bagmita Dutta a student of tenth standard of Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Lambodar Borgohain, Sivsagar district, has been able to draw a very small picture on a rice within 3 minutes and enroll her name in the International Book of Records.

According to details she drew a picture of a person carrying the national flag of the country.

School teachers from various states received an Honour for Excellence in Teaching and School Leadership Award from the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) on September 21. Notably, Munindra Kumar Majumdar, a teacher of Mathematics at Maria's Public School, Guwahati being bestowed with CBSE Teachers Award Honour for Excellence in Teaching & School Leadership, 2020-21. Meanwhile taking to his Twitter handle Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "Elated at Munindra Kumar Majumdar, a teacher of Mathematics at Maria's Public School, Guwahati being bestowed with #CBSE #TeachersAward Honour for Excellence in Teaching & School Leadership, 2020-21. My best wishes to him in his quest for spreading the light of wisdom."

The recipients are primary, middle, secondary and senior secondary level-school teachers. While the lion's share of awardees, eight of them to be precise, are teachers from Delhi, two are from Punjab, four are from Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Assam and Gujarat.

The award, established in the year 2000, calls for applications every year and the winners get a merit certificate, cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a shawl. Some notable winners such as Sitakant Pati from Odisha got an award for the kind of video-learning material he developed for Class 12 mathematics.
