ASTEC organizes science-based competitions at Morangi Dandeswar Saikia Girls’ High School

Numaligarh: The Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) and Aryabhatta Science Centre, Morangi block, organized various science-based competitions at Morangi Dandeswar Saikia Girls’ High School on Saturday.

Various students from 18 schools of the area participated in the science-based model, extempore speech and drawing competitions. Atul Saikia, the block coordinator of the programme, stated that six students from each school participated and more than 100 students from all 18 schools participated in these competitions. The programme was inaugurated by Headmaster of Dholaguri ME School, Aroop Kumar Duarah in presence of social worker Imran Hussain, educationist Gunoda Saikia, Morangi Press Club president Hemanta Saikia and others.

Many attractive and sci-tech models by the participating students were presented in the model competition. Prizes were distributed among the winners at a prize distribution ceremony at the end of the competitions.

Morangi Press Club president Hemanta Saikia said, “Conducting these types of science-based competitions will definitely enhance the academic performance and sci-tech abilities among the students of these government schools.”
