Astitta Rakshya Jana Jagaran Jatra brought out in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The Indian National Congress (I) brought out a ‘Astitta Rakshya Jana Jagaran Jatra’ from Sadiya to Dhubri on Sunday.
After organizing a number of meetings at Chapakhowa, Saikhowa, Talap, Tipuk and Rupaisiding, the procession finally arrived at Doomdooma and a meeting was held at Gandhi Chowk which was attended by Congress (I) president Ripun Bora, Leader of the Opposition in State Assembly, Debabrata Saikia, spokesperson Apurba Bhattacharya and MLA Durga Bhumij.
The objectives of this Jana Jagaran Jatra were annulment of Citizenship (Amendment) Act, according ST status to six ethnic communities of Assam and enhancement of wages of tea labourers.
