ATASU, TAYP stage protest in Demow ASTC bus stand against CAB

DEMOW: The All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Demow Regional Committee and Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad (TAYP) staged protest in Demow ASTC bus stand on Sunday in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The ATASU and TAYPA activists burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in Demow Chariali on Sunday evening and shouted various slogans against the BJP government.

Meanwhile, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) along with 30 indigenous organizations took out a massive torchlight rally in Demow on Sunday evening in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. The torchlight rally started from Demow public playground.

AASU activists along with activists of other organizations of Demow shouted various slogans against the BJP government and they strongly opposed the Bill. In the torchlight rally, AASU leaders, senior citizens, and businessmen of Demow were present.
