ATTSA burns effigy of Minister Sanjay Kishan in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: The activists of Assam Tea Tribe Students' Association (ATTSA), Golaghat district unit burnt the effigy of Minister of State for Tea Tribe Welfare and Labour Welfare, Sanjay Kishan on Saturday in Golaghat for alleged irregularities in providing scholarship to the tea tribe students.

The activists of the organization raised various slogans against the government and criticized the department concerned. The organisation alleged that since three years the students belonging to the tea tribe community had been deprived of government scholarship due to alleged negligence of the department. In this context, the ATTSA approached the department concerned and its minister several times demanding resolution of the issue. But the department allegedly did not pay any attention. As a result, the students are being deprived of the scholarship and are facing a lot of problems in pursuing higher education.

Golaghat ATTSA demanded that scholarship should be given to the tea tribe students immediately.
