An awareness camp on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to popularize and educate potential beneficiaries about the scheme

KOKRAJHAR: An awareness camp on the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to popularize and educate potential beneficiaries about the scheme was held at UN Brahma Senior Secondary School of Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Tuesday.
The programme organized by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of government of India, in association with District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), Chirang, was attended by Narendra Kumar Shah, Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, as chief guest, Bikram Kalita, General Manager of DICC, Chirang, Milton Pathak, Assistant Director, KVIC, Assam, Lead Bank Manager Ranjit Narzary and implementing agencies of PMEGP in the district level.
During the programme, they discussed and shared with loan aspirants and successful entrepreneurs under PMEGP present in the event on how to have employment opportunities through establishment of self-employment ventures in rural and urban areas by properly implementing the scheme. They also informed about its selection process and various conditions to be fulfilled by the applicants for availing PMEGP loan. On the occasion, after ceremonially distributing the sanction letters to the selected unemployed youths for PMEGP loan for the financial year 2020-21, the Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah called upon them to use the funds of the scheme properly for their self-development works.
