Awareness camp on weaving and textile held at Demow

DEMOW: An awareness camp on weaving and textile for sales and exhibition was organized by IQAC, HCDG College, Nitaipukhuri in collaboration with Rudrasagar Silk Limited, Demow in the college auditorium on Friday.

In the programme, Dr.Sanjib Borgohain, Principal of HCDG College, Nitaipukhuri extended his gratitude to Dilip Boruah for his visit to the college and for interacting with the local people. Dilip Boruah, CEO of Rudrasagar Silk Limited, was present in the programme as a resource person. He interacted with the weavers and members of 15 SHGs and students of HCDG College, Nitaipukhuri. He discussed in detail the prospects of Eri and Muga's small-scale industry.

Rudrasagar Silk Limited intends to start a production and training center of Eri and Muga fabric in the Weaving Training Centre, HCDG College, Nitaipukhuri. Prabhat Pran Konwar, managing director of Rudrasagar Silk Limited, also spoke on the occasion. Rajani Kanta Dutta, former Padadhikar as well as former president of the governing body, said that people should focus to work together to avail of the opportunities for the uplift of the society and for economic development.
