MORIGAON: An awareness programme on human trafficking and witch-hunting was organized today by the Laharighat ICDS Project Office at the Kushtoli Gaon Panchayat Office. The initiative is part of a state-wide campaign launched by the government to combat the rising cases of human trafficking and witch-hunting, with the goal of eliminating such social evils from society.
As part of the programme, a rally was carried out across Kushtoli Bazaar under the aegis of the Laharighat ICDS Project, drawing attention from the local community. Following the rally, a meeting was held under the presidentship of the Kushtoli GP President and was moderated by the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of the Laharighat ICDS Project.
The Officer-in-Charge of Laharighat Police Station addressed the gathering and delivered an insightful speech on the dangers and social impact of human trafficking and witch-hunting.
Similar awareness programmes were also conducted by the ICDS project offices of Mayong, Bhurbandha, Kapili, and Moirabari, reflecting a district-wide effort to raise awareness and foster community action against these harmful practices.
