Awareness meet on COVID-19: A hand towards needy people along Indo-Bhutan border

Kokrajhar: An awareness meet on the COVID-19 pandemic was held at the behest of The People’s Aid in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Kokrajhar on April 1 at Saralpara area under Kokrajhar district. Considering the hardship faced by the poor and needy people in the area, special care was taken by distributing food items like rice, pulses, edible oil, salt, and shops, etc. where as many as 1000 families were expected to be benefited by the programme.
Being present as a special guest, secretary of DLSA, Kokrajhar Bidyut Medhi delivered a valuable speech as to how the spread of the disease can be stopped among the people.
Nava Kumar Basumatary, president of The People’s Aid has also appealed to the public as a whole to obey government guidelines as circulated during the nationwide lockdown and to maintain social distance and stay at home so that everyone is saved from the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
