Awareness meeting on child protection arranged by Goalpara District Child Protection Unit

GOALPARA: An orientation-cum-awarenesses meeting on child protection mechanism was arranged by the Goalpara District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) in its head office on Thursday. The meeting mainly focused on the ways and means to prevent child marriages, held discussion on POCSO Act, process of legal adoption, besides the child labour menace.

Mostafa Hussain, DCPO, Safin Alam and Jayshri Kalita from DCPU unit spoke at length in the event. Besides Apurba Kumar Das, chairperson of CWC, Nasimul Islam and Azmina Sultana, members were present among many others in the meeting.
