Awareness meeting on coronavirus organized in Tezpur

Tezpur: Medical Inspector of Plantation Tezpur and special member of Medical Advisory Board, Plantation worker, Government of Assam, Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar on Monday organized an awareness meeting on coronavirus here at the ALC, office campus Tezpur in the presence of Sonam Das, Secretary, TAI, S Ghose, assistant secretary, ABITA, and other officials.

During the meeting, Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar appealed to all the members present to take preventive measures against coronavirus and suggested that a door-to-door awareness should be carried out in simple way so that workers do not panic. He also said that vigilance on any visitor/guest coming to the tea estates from abroad or any part of the country was important. If symptoms were detected on any person, it should be brought to the notice of the estate medical team. For any doubts, patient should be immediately referred to higher centre for further management.

Dr Lahkar also said, “In case of infection of coronavirus, stay home when you are sick and avoid close contact with people who are sick. One should avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. The victim should cover the cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.”
