Awareness meeting with tea garden managers held in Nagaon district

TEZPUR: Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, Medical Inspector of plantations of Tezpur and Nagaon convened a meeting with the tea garden managers of Kaliabar sub Division in Nagaon district at the Civil SDO office of Kaliabar as advised by the local MLA and Health Minister.

During the programme, Dr Lahkar advised all managers to extend their cooperation to implement the various health schemes in the tea estates and urged all the managers for proper utilization of NHM PPP fund in the garden. Dr Lahkar also explained that the government has taken so many welfare activities for the benefit of tea gardens and all should extend their cooperation. He also mentioned that some of the gardens have still not appointed required paramedical staff. Dr Lahkar directed all to appoint adequate number of medical and paramedical staff within one month. Dr Lahkar also suggested the garden managers to deput welfare officers to take active part in implementation of wage compensation schemes in the tea estates.

In the meeting Secretary of TAI and Labour Inspector, I/C Assistant commissioner Devasana Barman were present. Management assured that they will extend their cooperation in proper implementation of medical facilities in the garden. Dr Lahkar further said that all the garden managers to follow the latest government notification in referring patient to higher institutions and also to adopt TB patients in tea area population under Nixay Mitra Schemes.
