Awareness on management of fertiliser distribution for wholesale and retail

HAILAKANDI: A day-long awareness cum training programme on management of fertiliser distribution for wholesale and retail fertiliser dealers of the district was held at the Supervisory Training Centre in the District Agriculture Office premises here on Tuesday.

Incharge of District Agriculture Office, Dr.AR Ahmed asked all the dealers to carry on their businesses following provisions of the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985 failing which stern action would be initiated. Dr.Ahmed reiterated that urea should be sold to the farmers visiting with EPIC (Voter ID) and their details entered into the PoS machine properly.

The dealers were also asked to display the stock position and price list, signboard of the shop, issue cash or credit memorandum, install QR code for cashless transaction and link the PoS with Aadhar number as and when asked for without any deviation.

Dr. Ahmed also asked the dealers to sell fertiliser with balance nutrition. "Sale of only nitrogenous fertiliser should not be allowed as per provision of the Fertiliser Control Order, 1985," added Dr.Ahmed. Area Manager, BVFCL, Silchar, AK Singha urged the wholesale and retail fertiliser dealers to lift fertiliser on time so that it is made available to the farmers throughout the year. Area Manager, IFFCO, Silchar, Saikat Das also spoke on the occasion. ADO cum Fertiliser Inspectors and 36 numbers of fertiliser dealers were present.
