Awareness programme

Golaghat, June 4: An awareness programme on the New (Amended) Excise Act, 2018 was organized on Tuesday by the Golaghat district administration and excise department in joint collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Golaghat. The meeting, which was held at the conference hall of Circuit House, was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shyamal Kshetra Gogoi. Advocate Nitul Bora was the resource person on the occasion.

Superintendent of Excise, Bhoben Phukan said the programme was organized for the Excise department officials to help them understand the finer nuances of the newly amended Act, which has new rules and sections, and how they could effectively implement the Act with special help and understanding of DLSA officials.

Speaking on the occasion, advocate Nitul Bora welcomed the amendments to the Act.
