Awareness programme on Aadhaar seeding held in Haflong

HAFLONG: An awareness programme organized by Jatinga Valley Development Block (JVD Block), Mahur in collaboration with other line departments. was held at the JVD block auditorium hall in Mahur on Thursday. The objective of the programme was creating awareness on Aadhaar seeding which has become mandatory for beneficiaries under various schemes and projects.

The programme was addressed by BDO Mahur Block Banadip Rabha and participated by various line departments. Officials from various departments were present.

The programme was organized with an objective to share and create awareness among the beneficiaries and public to register Aadhaar which has become mandatory nowadays for availing various schemes and projects under the State or Central government.

Deputy Director of Food & Civil Supply, Rupam Debragede in his speech informed that Aadhaar plays a critical role in delivering digital services to beneficiaries, bringing transparency of various government schemes and services. The Aadhaar plays an important role in Public Distribution System (PDS) scheme to avail ration by the beneficiaries. Stressing the importance of registering for Aadhaar, he added that without Aadhaar, one could not avail any kind of government scheme and services and absence of Aadhar number might even lead to cancellation of ration card.
