Awareness programme on balanced use of fertilizers in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Romai based Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dibrugarh conducted a day-long awareness programme on 'Efficient and Balanced Use of Fertilizers (including NI5 guyno Fertilizers)' for the benefit of farmers of the district under the direction of ATARI, ICAR, Guwahati office and Director of Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.

Hemchandra Saikia, in-charge Senior Scientist and Head of the Kendra, while delivering his inaugural speech urged the participating farmers to apply balanced dose of fertilizers in crop cultivation as per the recommendation of agricultural experts or scientists as this will help them to enhance their farm income and profit from crop production through optimum use of fertilizers input.

Dr Dilip Patgiri, Professor and Head of Department of Soil Science of Assam Agricultural University Jorhat, also gave a very useful and easily understandable presentation on various aspects of efficient use of balanced fertilizers in crop production for the greater benefit of the farming community of the district through virtual mode.

Dr Rupjyoti Borah, Junior Extension Specialist of Directorate of Extension Education of Assam Agricultural University Jorhat, also spoke about balanced use of fertilizers in agriculture.

Altogether 68 participants participated in the programme. The programme was a part of the national campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav of the Government of India.
