LAKHIMPUR: In view of generating awareness over violence against women and girl, an awareness rally along with a workshop was organized in North Lakhimpur town on Friday. Both events were initiated by Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM-DMMU) in association with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women as part of 16 days' Campaign on Violence against Women and Girls.

The awareness rally was taken out from the Circuit House and it was flagged off by ADC Manorama Morang. The student members of the National Service Scheme (NSS) under various colleges of the district took part in the rally. On the other hand, the workshop concerned was held in the conference hall of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) office. The event was attended by Lakhimpur Zila Parishad CEO Tripurendra Pator, ADC Manorama Morang, Assistant Commissioner Dipti Rekha Hazarika, and others.
