The invited guest was a prominent scholar and a researcher Ismail Hossain of Assam. The convener of the event, a life member of Mumbai Xahitya Xabha, Nilufa Yasmin sang a Borgeet and elaborated about Hossain's research and various books.
Suraiya Jahan, the president of Mumbai Xahitya Xabha, welcomed the invited guest. The first Muslim person to act in Sankardev's ankiya naat, Hossain has delivered many lectures in the UK and US. In his speech, Hossain said that Srimanta Sankardev had united the race with 36 tribes. He brought about cultural unity and fought against racial antagonism.
