LAKHIMPUR: Telahi Kamalaboria Anchalik Sakha Xahitya Xabha, one of the most active branch units of the Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX), organized a conference of its lifelong members on Sunday.

The event was organized at the Bimala Prasad Chaliha LP School premises. The agenda of the event began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Rosheswar Bhuyan, retired vice principal of Panigaon Model HS School and presentation of the AXX title song, "Chira Chenehi Mor Bhasa Jononi..." performed by the students of the Navajyoti Sangeet Bidyalay. The event was chaired by Lohit Chandra Khaond, the president of the branch unit literary body and it was inaugurated by former president Nila Chutia. AXX central committee member-cum-Mangalmoy Patrika Editor Sanjib Upadhyay attended the event as chief guest. Lakhimpur Jila Xahitya Xabha secretary Naba Kamal Borah graced the occasion as appointed speaker. In connection with the programme, an interactive session on serious topics as well as cultural and literary subjects— titled as 'Aalap' was organized and it was held under the management of secretary Sanjib Borah, former secretary Haren Hazarika. Debangi Borah recited a poem in the event while Dhyanshish Borah and Violina Bhagawati presented Bhupendra Sangeet and Bishnu Rabha Sangeet respectively. On the other hand, Radio artiste Satyanath Phukan presented a caricature programme. The students of Panigaon Model HS School staged a drama named 'Poka Dhane Mate Ringiyai', written and directed by Bhrigu Prasad Sarmah.
