'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav': 'Mega Fit India Freedom Run' organised in Assam

MORIGAON: In order to commemorate the 75 years of India Independence,the country has been celebrating 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' by organizing various programmes.

Organized in connection with 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Nehru Yuva Kendra of Morigaon organized a mega 'Fit India Freedom Run' at Nagaon town on Saturday morning. The CEO of Morigaon Zila Parishad Khitish Ch. Pegu ,Regional Director of North East Zone of NYK Jackle Ruivah, SPAYA & TAOA flagged off the run from the DC office. Also present on the occasion were ADC -- Ringkong Mushahary, EO -- Dipmoyee Thakuria, HOD of Political Science of Morigaon College -- Achuit Kr Das, SO of NYK of State office, and A/C-officer Dhananjay Talukdar.The run was started from the DC office. More than 250 youths including NCC team took part in the event.

The programme was initiated in collaboration with district administration. Earlier, the invited guests and participants offered floral tributes on the portrait of Deen Dayal Upadhya on his birth anniversary. A felicitation programme was also held where the invited guests were felicitated with a gamusa in the programme.

GOLAGHAT: The NYK (Nehru Yuva Kendra) -- an autonomous body of the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs observed birth Centenary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on the occasion of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsov'on Saturday.

Nehru Yuva Kendra, Golaghat in collaboration with HARDS (NGO) Golaghat celeberated the birth Anniversary with a 'Mega Fit Run' from the Stadium Road to the Bata Point, Golaghat to mark the occasion.

About 300 youths from different villages of Golaghat and invited guests took part in the mega Rally which is flagged of by Ratul Saikia, youth leader and sportsperson, in the presence of Arup Gogoi, Sportsperson Yogesh Charan, District Youth Officer, NYK, Golaghat and Prasanta Bhuyan, lecturer of Golaghat Law College and president of HARDS -- an NGO of Golaghat, Arun Chakraborty, APA, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Golaghat and several other distinguised guests including Vinay Pandey, Surajit Phukan, Sunil Regon (secretary of HARDS), Mintu Bora, Nakib Ahmed, Nabajyoti Kalita.

The programme was attended by many distinguised person and expess there feeling about the great leader said by Suvansu Bora, organising Secretary, HARDS,NGO.

At the end of the 'Mega Fit Run', the participants were awarded certificates.
