RANGIA: A cycle rally started from Tezpur on August 25 and on August 28 from Guwahati to commemorate the 75th year of India's Independence under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The rally left for New Delhi after stopping from the night at SSB sector headquarter, Rangia.

A colorful cultural programme was also organized in the honour of the cyclists where the culture of the different States of India was reflected. On Saturday, the SSB 24 Bn offered warm welcome to the riders at Pub Kamrup College. The riders were welcomed in the Rangia sector headquarter by the DIG SSB, Jagdeep Pal Singh.

A colourful programme was organized at the college auditorium hall where Diganta Kalita, MLA of Kamalpur, Pradip Kumar Gupta, IG SSB Tezpur headquarter, Hrishikesh Sarma, Commandent and Pankaj Sarma and Deepak Sahi, Deputy Commandant, SSB 24 Bn, Narrayan Goswami, Principal of Pub Kamrup College and other officers and officials were also present. Commandant Hrishikesh Sarma and Diganta Kalita felicitated the cyclists with traditional phulam gamosa. In his speech, MLA Kalita thanked the SSB 24 Bn and the cycle team for the programme. The MLA also started a plantation drive by planting saplings.

On the other hand, Sector Headquarter of SSB, also offered warm welcome to the cycling team with SSB Band and Bihu. Jagdeep Pal Singh, DIG SSB, felicitated the cyclists with traditional gamosa specially designed for the team.

Sashastra Seema Bal organized a cycle rally from Tezpur (Assam) to Rajghat (New Delhi) via Rangia. This cycle rally will reach Rajghat, New Delhi via Frontier HQ SSB, Tezpur and Guwahati on October 2, 2021 by riding around 1,980 km.
