Badarpur Press Club felicitates journalists in Silchar

SILCHAR: Journalists Satananda Bhattacharjee of Hailakandi and Arup Roy of Karimganj were felicitated by Badarpur Press Club for their notable contributions towards enrichment of journalism of the valley and also for their social commitment and services. Working in adverse situation and facing odds and oddities, Satananda Bhattacharjee, a distinguished member of Barak Upatyaka Krira Sambadik Sanstha and a frontline functionary of Hailakandi Press Club, was honoured with uttariya, memento and gifts.
Arup Roy, Secretary of Karimganj Press Club, was extended warm felicitation for his journalism and most important for his highly appreciated arrangement of COVID-19 vaccination centres at different places of the border district, particularly for journalists, their family members and senior citizens. He was offered uttariya, memento and gifts.
The occasion to adore and admire Satananda and Arup was the 12th annual general meeting of Badarpur Press Club held at Badarpurghat. Both were present as observers and special invitees. Jishu Suklabaidya was nominated as president of Badarpur Press Club and Saidul Islam as vice-president. Salim Ahmed was selected as general secretary and Abdul Malik as assistant secretary, Jishu Nath as treasurer, Biplu Paul as organising secretary. Sahirul Islam, Dipan Paul, Taj Uddin, Sanjay Das, Sarif Uddin, Swapnajit Nath and Pintu Suklabaidya have been inducted as members of the executive committee.
