Barpeta district administration organized meet with political parties

BARPETA: A meeting was held between Barpeta district administration and all the political parties' representatives at the DC office conference hall on Monday regarding the norms of filing nominations.

In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, Munindra Sarma stated that each candidate had to open a new bank account for the election. All the expenditures and all the transactions have to do through this account. The Deputy Commissioner urged all the representatives of the political parties to cooperate in conducting free and fair election.

DIPRO of Barpeta, Bikash Sarma said that as per the rule, no party could take out any procession within a range of 100 metres near the DC office. Again, a candidate can spend only Rs. 30.80 lakh in the election. In this meeting, Manoj Sikaria, CEO of Barpeta Zila Parishad, all the ADCs and other officials were also present.
