Bathou Traditional and Cultural Centre extends held to poor villagers in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The Bathou Traditional and Cultural Centre, Kokrajhar on Sunday extended its gesture to the poor families and distributed essential items to poor villagers of Bismuri area of the district. The items included 5 kg rice, mustard oil, biscuit packets, Dettol, salt and masks.

The advisor of the Bathou Traditional and Cultural Centre, Kokrajhar, Rajani Mohilary formally gave away the packets of essential items to poor villagers. The Council Head of the Department (CHD), BTC, Ansuma Mahilary, advisor of Bathou Traditional and Cultural Centre and PRO, BTC, Sameswar Basumatary, convener of the centre, Mahim Chandra Basumatary and assistant secretary Naba Kr. Basumatary also gave away the essential items.

Talking to reporters, the convener of the Bathou Traditional and Cultural Centre, Mahim Chandra Basumatary said they extended the essential items to 100 poor families of 20 villages of Bishmuri area. He said that people, especially those belonging to poor families, were suffering during the ongoing lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Basumatary said the Bathou Traditional and Cultural Centre had earlier extended support to poor people who were suffering in the lockdown and again they would continue to distribute essential items in four other places to poor families.
