BAYM demands 24-hour medical service at Panigaon, Lakhimpur

A CORRESPONDENT

LAKHIMPUR : The Lakhimpur district unit of Brihattar Asomiya Yuva Mancha (BAYM) demanded 24-hour medical service in Panigaon Additional Hospital and immediate repair of the Lakhimpur-Kamalabari road.

In support of these demands, the organization initiated a two hour-long sit-in at Panigaon in front of the hospital on Monday, in association with its Telahi regional unit.

The organization alleged that a large number of patients under Telahi and Kamalaboria mouzas had been deprived of medical services due to non-availability of permanent medical officers at Panigaon Additional Hospital. Further, the dilapidated condition of the KB Road has made people living in the southern part of the district suffer a lot. The organization submitted a memorandum to the State Health and PWD Minister regarding the issues.
