GORESWAR: With the rest of the State, National Worm Control Week has been on in Baksa district. All the students below 18 years are targeted to be freed from worm through the mission in the State.
Accordingly, all the measure had been taken by the District Health department to cover the school going students with the active cooperation of school authority. The school authority of BC Bidyapith High school under Mushalpur Education block also took the initiative in the mission on Thursday and distributed deworming tablets among the students to protect themselves from worm. Altogether 15 students fell ill after taking deworming tablets on Thursday of BC Bidyapith High school in Mushalpur. The students felt a tendency to vomit and had a severe headache after taking tablets and gradually became serious.
Immediately, the Health Department was informed about the incident and the affected students were taken to the Mushalpur civil hospital for treatment. Ankita Kalita, Junmani Kalita, Rampi Kalita, Babita Das, Tarali Das, Dipamani Das, Akashdeep Baruah, Rafiq Ali, Bikash Rajbangshi, Meenakshi Mahat, Dipjyoti Mahat, Pallabi Nath, Abhijit Nath, Pawan Bhattacharjee and Sumi Boro were taken to the Mushalpur Civil Hospital for treatment. In this concern, District Joint Health Director Dr. Gunindra Nath Debasarma said that due to unbearable hotness of the day, the students become serious after taking deworming tablets. The incident created a strong reaction in the district.
