BCPL organizes awareness programme 'Saksham' in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) is celebrating 'Sanrakshan Kshamta Mahotsav (Saksham) 2021' from January 16 to February 15 this year, in line with the guidelines of the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India.

On this occasion, BCPL invited environmental activist and the Forest Man of India, Padma Shri Dr. Jadav Payeng for an awareness programme recently. The programme started with a plantation drive along with interactive session with residents of BCPL Township at Barbaruah.

The programme further continued with an awareness-cum-interactive session for students from nearby schools at Chukapha Bhawan, Barbaruah. More than 550 students along with teachers from Rameswar Higher Secondary School, Barbaruah, Barbaruah Girls' High School, Barbaruah, Sessa Tiniali Maidamoni High School, Lepetkata and National Academy of Fire and Safety Engineering Dibrugarh participated in the session. Senior officials of BCPL, including R K Singh, Chief Operating Officer, BCPL and Pranjal Changmai, GM (Operations-I/C) were present during the event. Jay Sivani IAS, Assistant Commissioner Dibrugarh and Deepika Choudhury Inspector of Schools, was also present on the occasion. A drawing competition was also organized for school students.

Dr. Jadav Payeng also visited BCPL Petrochemical Complex at Lepetkata here and interacted with senior officials and employees of BCPL, in presence of Reep Hazarika, Managing Director, BCPL. The employees of BCPL Lakwa and Duliajan also joined the interaction virtually.

The programme was a huge success with Dr Payeng emphasizing 'Rajneeti Arthaneeti Dharmaneeti se upar hai Prakriti' (The environment is above politics, economy and religion).
