KOKRAJHAR: Bodoland Employees' Federation (BEF) on Tuesday demanded fresh clarification from the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) about their stand on the pending case against the employees of BTC filed by a central executive member of the UPPL, Kumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech seeking re-scrutiny of their appointments since 2005.

Talking to The Sentinel, the president of the BEF, Dipak Kr. Ramchiary said Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech had maligned the image of genuine employees of BTC by filing case against them who also said that BTC employees since 2005 were appointed illegally and there should be proper investigation into it.

Ramchiary said they had talked to UPPL president Promod Boro over the issue and he quoted Boro as saying that the UPPL did not discuss in the central committee meeting to file case against BTC employees but came to know that Dev Mech had done it alone. He questioned Boro how Dev Mech used the official writing pad of UPPL while filing case and how it was possible for an executive member to do such a thing without getting a green signal from the central committee?

Ramchiary questioned whether UPPL was trying to grab a political opportunity by filing case against the BTC employees. He said the expulsion of Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech from the UPPL was their internal matter but Boro must clarify about their stand on the pending case against them.
