BISWANATH: Children belonging to multiple local communities to part in a Bhaona presentation organised at the Bamgaon Pragati Moina Parijat of Biswanath. They enacted a famous play named, “Lanka dohon, Ravan bodh” in the act.

The event was organised in a two-day format by the Bamgaon Pragati Moina Parijat and many small children took part in the play. The Bhaona was organised as a part of the 28th session of the Pragati Moina Parijat. Keeping in mind the session, several literary and fun activities are being organised by the organisation since April 14 among the children of the locality.

The Bhaona was enacted by the children and adolescents to pay due respects to the key persons behind the establishment of the organisation, namely the Late Baliram Bora, Late Lokeshwar Bora, Late Bimal Bora, Late Purnya Krishna Mishra and Rupak Roy Bhuyan.

Children from the locality, irrespective of religion or caste have participated in this Bhaona presentation. And the people of Biswanath have welcomed the same with open arms. One small Muslim girl named Jeenat Afrin Khan played the role of the keeper of Sita in the Bhaona and she was able to gain kudos from the viewers.

In a separate incident, a daylight robbery took place in the Kochgoan locality of Biswanath a few days back. The robbers had broken in when no one was around and looted cash and jewellery from two houses in the locality. According to police reports, the robbers broke in through the ceiling of the houses. While cash worth Rs five lakhs was looted from the premises of one house, jewellery was stolen from the second one. The robberies took place in a plot located just behind the LIC office of Biswanath. The local police had registered a case regarding the incident and an investigation is underway regarding the same.
