Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employee unions declare serial protest programmes

NAGAON: To demand allotment of 4G spectrum, payment of pension contribution on actual basic pay, pension revision and settlement of superannuation benefits to directly recruited employees, all unions and associations of BSNL employees on Monday declared a serial countrywide strike and demonstration even at the circle and district level from October 30.

In a press conference held at the BSNL office premise on Monday, the leaders of various employees’ unions and associations informed about these serial demonstrations. As a part of the serial demonstrations, the employees on October 30 will carry out dharna at all levels and on November 14, protest rallies will be taken out in the circle and district level, they added further.

The leaders of the various employee organizations of BSNL said that if the ministry or government failed to fulfil its demands before November 30, the employee organizations would mobilize the employees for further serious agitations. They, however, alleged that earlier on February 24, 2018, the Minister of State for Communication, Manoj Sinha had given assurance to fulfil their demands but in due course of time nothing happened.
