Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) celebrated World Thinking Day in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: The Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG), Hailakandi, celebrated World Thinking Day in the office premises of the Inspector of Schools here on Saturday.

The trained scoutmasters along with other teachers and members assembled under the leadership of District Secretary-cum-Assistant Teacher and Advanced Scout Master, Lala HS & MP School, Ratindra Nath and observed the event in a befitting manner. The unfurling of the BSG flag, chanting of BSG prayer song and flag song was observed together with the distribution of sweets.

The BSG scarf was presented to Inspector of Schools cum Assistant State Commissioner, Hailakandi, Rajiv Kumar Jha.

The members discussed threadbare about the strategies for strengthening the BSG movement in schools across the district. Some important resolutions were adopted which include offering BSG scarf to Deputy Commissioner cum President, BSG District Association as a mark of respect; installing a life-size portrait of Lord Baden Powell, the founder of the worldwide BSG movement; procuring BSG Association flag, rope, etc; intimating all schools for renewal of their unit registration for the current academic session and observing different days by BSG units in their schools. It also resolved to arrange basic course training for scoutmaster/guide captain in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Inspector of Schools cum Assistant State Commissioner, Hailakandi, Rajiv Kumar Jha asked the members to be always ready to help others in the service of mankind and to preserve nature. He further requested all the members to do their duty to God, to help others and to obey the Scout laws.
