Dibrugarh: The district executive convention of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), held at the India Club Theatrical Institute here on Tuesday, was attended by the party's national vice-president Baijayanta Joy Panda, Union Minister of State (Ind) for Food Processing and Industries, Rameswar Teli, MP of Jorhat, Tapan Gogoi, Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, Lahowal MLA Rituparna Baruah and other senior leaders of the party. The meeting discussed various issues in general and the party' election strategy for the forthcoming assembly election in mandal and booth level.

Later, national vice-president and the State Prahbari, Baijyanta Joy Panda, while briefing the media persons, stated that election prospects of the party in the coming assembly election were very positive. "It has become apparent from several way-out survey and feedback received from booth and mandal-level party workers that BJP this time will easily bag 100 plus seats. Assamese people, what I feel, have tremendous faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will like to see the BJP at the helm of power in the next assembly election," Panda added.

Answering a query, Panda said, "The people of Assam are aware about the regional parties that they have tied up with the Congress. Regional parties cannot harm the election prospects of the BJP which is the world's largest party," he said.
