LAKHIMPUR: Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Urban Development, Pijush Hazarika called upon the people of Lakhimpur Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) to make Manab Deka winner by a huge margin of votes in order to ensure comprehensive development of the LAC.
Pijush Hazarika made this appeal on Sunday while taking part in an election campaign rally organized at Bochagaon under the LAC in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Manab Deka. Speaking on the occasion, the minister lambasted Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and called upon the people not to cast vote for Congress candidates. He said that Congress and AIUDF were in a cordial confederation and alliance just to achieve victory in the Assam Legislative Assembly Election — 2021.
"But the people of Assam are not with Congress now. It is crystal clear that BJP will form government in the State once again. If Congress is voted to power, AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal will be the kingmaker and he will be the Home Minister of the Congress-led government. If he assumes the power of the Home Minister, there will be anarchy in Assam," Hazarika asserted.
In his speech, the minister highlighted what BJP-led State Government had done for the welfare of Scheduled Caste people and to keep the memory of spiritual figure Ilaram Das, Sudhakantha Bhupen Hazarika alive. In this connection, he underlined the achievements of the BJP-led government at the Centre and in the State in addition to quoting the developmental activities implemented by BJP government in Lakhimpur district. He also highlighted the social activities of Manab Deka in the past years.
In this connection, the minister criticized existing MLA Utpal Dutta alleging his failure with regard to ushering in development in the Lakhimpur LAC as MLA of five terms. He also criticized Congress candidate Dr. Joy Prakash Das.
In the rally, candidate Manab Deka assured to bring unprecedented change to Lakhimpur LAC if he won the election. Lakhimpur district unit BJP president Phanidhar Baruah and Telahi Mandal Committee president Tapan Dutta also appealed to the people to vote for Manab Deka in order to bring change in LAC.
