KALAIGAON: With the BTC elections to be held on December 7 and December 10, hectic political activities are being witnessed in the entire Bhergaon subdivision in Udalguri district.

The administration of Bhergaon subdivision has geared up for the smooth conduct of the polls in a peaceful atmosphere with adequate security measures. Gakul Ch. Brahma, SDO ( C ), Bhergaon subdivision, and Jiten Kumar, Election Observer of Bhergaon, said this in a press conference on Friday in the conference hall of the SDO (C) office.

Addressing the press meet, SDO (C) Brahma said that as per records, a total of 22 hyper-sensitive polling booths among 395 polling booths were identified by the administration so far. Adequate security forces and other security agents will monitor the safe and smooth conduct of the election in all the five constituencies under Bhergaon subdivision like No.31 Khairabari (ST), No.32 Bhergao (ST), No.33 NonwiSerfang (Non ST), No. 34 Khalingduar (ST) and No.35 Mwdwibari (Open).

Meanwhile, all the people and the officials engaged in election duty will have to follow the COVID-19 protocol. ASHA karmis have been trained to measure temperature and for sanitization. Not only that, voters will also follow the COVID-19 protocol. SDO (C) Brahma also stated that a total 1,50,842 male voters and 1,47,860 female voters of five constituencies falling under Bhergaon subdivision would decide the fate of 28 candidates belonging to various political parties.
