Bhupen Bora On Acquiring Flat At Housing Colony Says His Wife Is Ready To Face Punishment

GUWAHATI: Assam Cabinet Minister  Piyush Hazarika has made allegations against the wife of APCC President Bhupen Kumar Bora claiming that she had acquired a flat at a housing colony through fake documents.

Hazarika alleged that Borah and his wife Mousumi Borgohain had taken over the governmental property at Housing Colony in 2006 by presenting false documents as unemployed persons.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday 22 February the APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) reacted to the statement by Hazarika by saying that he and his wife are ready to face punishment if required and they will also pay the fine which could be imposed on them for the illegal process of owning the land.

He stated that they must not make a comparison between a 475 sq ft flat and 29 bighas of ceiling surplus land area.

While countering the allegations by Hazarika, Bora further said that it is true that they had owned the flat but it was handed over 2 times by their family.

Bora mentioned "The person who lives in the flat is a nephew of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma named Robin Bordoloi,"

He was then questioned about his relationship with the nephew of the CM, the APCC president explained that the CM always regarded an unemployed as his nephew and the person residing in the flat is unemployed therefore he is CM's nephew.

He stated that though he and his wife will be facing the required punishment who will question the 29 bighas of ceiling surplus land?

Bora questioned that they are ready to return the flat but will the CM and his family return the ceiling surplus land?

He then called on the Chief Minister's family to return the land as early as possible.

Hazarika in his allegations on Monday said that the aforementioned flat was booked on 7 in the name of Mousumi Borgohain from 2006 to 2021 but after one year of owning the flat Miss Borgohain had joined as a demonstrator at Medical College.
