Bicycle rally organized by Biswanath District Health Society and NHM

A bicycle rally was organized under the initiative of Biswanath District Health Society and National Health Mission (NCD Cell), Biswanath Chariali on the occasion of World Bicycle Day on Saturday.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A bicycle rally was organized under the initiative of Biswanath District Health Society and National Health Mission (NCD Cell), Biswanath Chariali on the occasion of World Bicycle Day on Saturday. The rally was inaugurated by Dr Jogen Chandra Bey, Joint Director in-charge of District Health Services and Dr Jeevanjyoti Teli, Sub-Divisional Medical and Health Officer, Biswanath Chariali Block Primary Health Centre. The rally was attended by hundreds of people from Let’s Pedal, Health Department and the students of Chariali Adarsha Vidyapith High School.

The main objective of the rally, which started from the office of the SDO (C)-in-Charge, was to attract the people towards pollution and painless bicycling and also to inform the public about its extraordinary benefits. Nihar Saikia on behalf of Let’s Pedal spoke about various aspects of the benefits of riding a bicycle. The rally was described as one of the most successful programmes by Block Programme Manager Zehirul Islam Prince.
