PALASBARI: A group of 13 Bihu dancers of the historic Chamaria Xatra, who had participated in the world record programme of Bihu this year at the Sarusajai Stadium, had organized a Bihu workshop on Saturday at Chamaria to train the younger generation. Over 100 candidates participated in the workshop.
A meeting was also held on the occasion under the chairmanship of Bhaga Dutta Kalita. Social worker Chinmoy Kalita gave a valuable speech in the meeting. The meeting was attended by popular actress Bhranti Medhi, journalist Abhijit Kalita, Laba Bharali, environmental activist Aparna Hazarika, Professor Dr Lohit Rava, teachers Malabya Das and Lukesh Kalita, social worker Hafiz Ali, among others.
In the meeting, actress Bhranti Medhi lauded the initiative of the 13 dancers from Chamaria who participated in the Bihu world record programme and organized the workshop by investing a part of the cash prize they received from the Government of Assam.
