Bike-Borne Miscreants Loot Rs 5 Lakh From Woman In Guwahati

Guwahati: Two bike-borne miscreants looted Rs 5 lakh from a woman in Guwahati's Patharquarry area on Wednesday.

According to the police, chain snatchers are behind the crime, who were following the woman before executing the crime.

The woman, identified as Jaya Rajkhowa, had withdrawn Rs 5 lakh from the bank on Wednesday morning and while on her way to back home, the miscreants were tailing her.

The miscreants snatched her bag from the point where she had gotten down from a shared taxi to board another vehicle for another route.

After committing the crime, the miscreants fled away from the spot. However, the woman couldn't see their face.

In this regard, Jaya Rajkhowa has lodged a complaint at the Noonmati Police station following which a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
